"Watcha looking at buddy?" This young manatee was swimming in Crystal River Florida. She was quite curious and was simply facinated by her reflection in my camera's big lens dome.

"Good Morning Mate" Resting Manatee. This manatee was resting in the river right outside the Three Sisters Spring in Crystal River, Florida. Peaceful, relaxed, stress-free.

'Hello There!' This manatee lazily swam right up to where I was snorkeling. He was fascinated with his reflection in my camera dome and got so close, he actually rubbed against me.

"Manatee and Photographer" This manatee couldn't care less about the photographer in the background. He's just basking in the warm Florida morning sun on a beautiful day

"Mr. Chill" "Mr. Chill" Every time I dive with Manatees, I am impressed by the feeling of tranquility they inspire.

"Leviathan" A typical male manatee will mature at over 10 feet long and 2,000 pounds. You feel a real sense of humility when you swim along side one.

"Just Chillin' " There is something soothing about snorkeling with Manatees. They are just so laid-back, calm, peaceful and relaxed.

"Fred Basset" Manatees are just the most lovable souls. They really remind me of Basset-Hounds....that are ten feet long and weigh a thousand pounds!

"Ferocious Vegan" I'm glad manatees are vegetarian. I wouldn't want be swimming and run across this 2,000 lb, 11 foot-long guy if he liked meat as much as I do.

"Come to the Light" Manatees have to surface every 20 minutes or so (even when sleeping)

"Surface! Surface! Surface!" Florida Manatee headed up for a nice breath of brisk January air. Manatees surface to breethe over 70 times per day.

"Dental Floss" If you're around Manatees at all, you will notice how they are fascinated with rope and anchor chains. It seems to be one of their favorite playthings.
